Steady Your Heart
“My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him.
Truly He is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will
never be shaken.” ~ Psalm 62:1–2
In life, situations often arise that are out of our control. Maybe you’re on your way to an appointment, and a sudden delay threatens to make you late, or you’ve prepared carefully for an event, only for things to fall apart at the last minute. It’s in these moments that we face a choice: Will we let worry and frustration disrupt our peace, or will we choose to steady our hearts and trust that everything will unfold as it should?
When you’re tempted to react in frustration, consider a pause. Breathe, and remember that our sense of calm is something we can protect and nurture. The moment we refuse to let impatience or disappointment dictate our emotions, we reclaim a bit of freedom. Instead of feeding our anxiety, we can rest in the assurance that if we’ve done our best, God will take care of the rest.
Psalm 62:1–2 says, “My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. Truly He is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will never be shaken.” When we ground ourselves in His strength, we’re less likely to be shaken by external pressures. Today, choose to anchor your heart in His peace, no matter what comes your way.
With patience, you steady your heart and allow God to guide each step. Trust in Him, and you’ll find an unshakeable peace that nothing can disrupt.
Lord, help me find peace in life’s uncertainties. Strengthen my heart with Your unwavering love, granting me patience and grace in every challenge. May I embrace each new day with hope, reflecting Your mercy and faithfulness in all I do. Amen.
